Testimonials

  • From the first day, Thrive proved to be a greater blessing to me than I could have imagined. The home-like environment was healing to my soul with an atmosphere of pure brotherly love that can be described simply as a foretaste of heaven. The physical work in nature and with fellow pilgrims acted as a balm to my mind and heart. Though there was not a heavy emphasis on academic learning, every ounce of information was precious and life-changing. One treasure of Thrive was the no-relationship policy. It brought a peace of heart and relief from societal pressures that was beautiful. Each man and woman was simply a brother or sister and that closeness and sacred distance laid the foundation for wonderful relationships in the future. My husband and I look with fondest memories on the time spent together at Thrive while we were simply students on a common mission that God brought together years later. I will be forever grateful for what I learned and experienced at Thrive.

  • My time at Red River Outpost Center (formerly THRIVE) was a direct answer to a specific prayer. At the culmination of my training at MEET Ministry, I prayed that God would either throw me into the field to use what I had learned or send me somewhere for more hands-on experience. He directed me to THRIVE, which did both. This unique environment, where hands-on missionary work was fused with everyday life, became the forge where my calling was clarified. I discovered what I was not called to do by doing it, and in the process, I discovered what I was. The ministry’s model of operating like a faithful home fundamentally shaped my understanding of discipleship and ignited a lasting zeal to provide that same transformative environment for others. This proven model from Thrive became my benchmark, and it was while working in other vineyards that I clearly saw the void of rightly trained laborers and the lack of places to train them effectively—a pressing need that directly led to the birth of the Ozark Outpost Center to replicate that model. Our mission is to directly address that void by training effective laborers, strategically sending them into the harvest, and building a collaborative network of ministries and workers. We are committed to raising up and connecting disciples who will carry the Gospel to all nations, helping to fulfill the Great Commission and usher in the return of our King.

  • Joining the student program at Red River Outpost was one the best decisions I made in my life. I was 19 when I joined and immediately I felt at home. The environment was peaceful and the leadership team was always nurturing and helpful as I grew in my knowledge of life, the Bible and practical trades. There I wasn’t only a student but I was encouraged and enabled to become a leader and learn how to best develop in my sphere of influence as well as develop into the specific calling God had for my life. That’s what was special about the student program, you’re not expected to fit in a box, you’re just given the tools to know how to hear God’s specific calling on your life and the support and mentorship to grow into that calling. I would recommend any young person to attend this program, I believe it is foundational.
